kathryn's Gravatar "com" in namespaces isn't short for "component". it's a reverse-domain-name thing. search for "reverse" on this page for an explanation: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/quickstart/buildi...

It is true that a lot of component packages use the "reverse domain" approach today.

I would have assumed that the use of "com" had been around for much longer; meaning component or possibly common. I can't find anything on the web to explicitly support my assumption, though.
